Powerful drain and sewer line cleaning for grease, sludge, scale, roots and stubborn buildup.

Bill Pasquarello Plumbing & Heating provides professional hydro jetting for clogged and restricted drain and sewer lines throughout Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Hydro jetting uses controlled high-pressure water to remove buildup from the inside walls of the pipe—not simply create an opening through the obstruction.

Professional Hydro Jetting for Drain & Sewer Lines

Hydro jetting uses specialized equipment to send high-pressure water through a drain or sewer line. Forward and rear-facing jets break apart accumulated material while flushing loosened debris through the system.

Unlike methods designed primarily to open a path through a blockage, hydro jetting can clean buildup from around the interior circumference of the pipe.

It can be used on main sewer lines, building drains and other appropriate drain lines after the condition of the plumbing has been evaluated.

Hydro Jetting for Recurring Clogs & Sewer Backups

A drain that repeatedly clogs may have more than a single obstruction. Grease, sludge, scale and other material can gradually narrow the inside of a pipe until another blockage forms.

Hydro jetting may be appropriate for:

  • Recurring drain clogs
  • Slow-moving drain lines
  • Repeated sewer backups
  • Heavy grease accumulation
  • Sludge and debris
  • Mineral and scale buildup
  • Root intrusion
  • Lines that have repeatedly required snaking

Opening the immediate blockage may restore drainage. Cleaning the accumulated material from the pipe helps address why the blockage keeps returning.

Hydro Jetting Removes Grease, Scale, Sludge & Roots

Different drain and sewer problems require different cleaning methods. Hydro jetting is particularly effective against material that adheres to the inside walls of a pipe.

Grease and fats can coat a line and collect additional debris.

Sludge and organic material can accumulate over time and restrict flow.

Mineral deposits and scale can reduce the usable diameter of older pipes.

Root intrusion can sometimes be cut and flushed from a sewer line, although damaged joints or broken pipe that allowed the roots to enter may still require repair.

Hydro jetting doesn’t repair a damaged pipe. It cleans the line so its actual condition can be evaluated and the appropriate next step determined.

How High-Pressure Hydro Jetting Cleans Your Pipes

Hydro jetting equipment pumps water through a specialized hose and nozzle inserted into the drain or sewer line.

Rear-facing jets help propel the nozzle through the pipe while directing water against accumulated material. Different nozzles and operating pressures can be selected according to the size, material and condition of the line and the type of obstruction being removed.

As the hose moves through the line, loosened grease, sludge, scale and debris are flushed away rather than left inside the pipe.

The result is a more thorough cleaning of the pipe interior rather than simply an opening through the clog.

Hydro Jetting vs. Drain Snaking

Drain snaking and hydro jetting solve different problems.

A drain snake or cable is often the appropriate choice for a straightforward obstruction. It can break through or retrieve a blockage and quickly restore flow.

Hydro jetting becomes particularly useful when buildup remains along the walls of the pipe or when the same drain repeatedly becomes clogged.

Drain snaking: Opens or removes an obstruction.

Hydro jetting: Removes accumulated material from the interior walls of the line.

One isn’t automatically better than the other. The right method depends on what’s causing the problem and the condition of the pipe.

Sewer Camera Inspection Before Hydro Jetting

Before hydro jetting a sewer line, it’s important to understand what is inside the line and what condition the pipe is in.

A sewer camera inspection can identify:

  • Heavy buildup
  • Root intrusion
  • Cracks and breaks
  • Separated joints
  • Collapsed sections
  • Corrosion and deterioration
  • Other structural problems

That information helps determine whether hydro jetting is appropriate and how aggressively the line can safely be cleaned.

A camera inspection after cleaning can also provide a much clearer view of the pipe once accumulated material has been removed.

Hydro Jetting for Older Cast-Iron & Clay Pipes

Philadelphia has a large inventory of older plumbing systems, making pipe condition especially important before aggressive drain cleaning.

Older cast-iron pipe may contain substantial scale and corrosion. Clay sewer lines may have deteriorated joints, root intrusion or structural damage.

Age alone doesn’t determine whether a line can be hydro jetted. Condition does.

A sound older pipe may be a candidate for cleaning, while a badly deteriorated, separated or collapsed line may require another approach.

That’s another reason inspection and diagnosis come before choosing the cleaning method.

Hydro Jetting Cleans the Entire Pipe, Not Just the Clog

The major advantage of hydro jetting is thoroughness.

Instead of concentrating solely on the point where drainage has stopped, high-pressure water can remove accumulated material along a much larger section of the pipe.

That can provide:

  • Better drainage and flow
  • Removal of stubborn buildup
  • More complete grease removal
  • Removal of loose scale and debris
  • Fewer recurring blockages caused by remaining buildup
  • A cleaner pipe for camera inspection
  • A clearer picture of the pipe’s actual condition

For the right drain or sewer problem, hydro jetting provides a level of cleaning that conventional cabling may not.
